Ram Mill teed up for £20m hotel conversion

The Oldham mill has already been partly refurbished and now hosts 37 companies, but the next phase of plans would add 75 double bedrooms and 105 aparthotel units to the upper floors of the former textile factory.

Ram Mill Business Centre is established in the mill’s lower levels, and the hub includes function rooms, meeting spaces, and an employee gym.

The vision is to create a collection of 180 luxury apartments and boutique hotel rooms across the second, third, and fourth floors of the mill, according to planner P.Land Development Consultants.

Hotel guests would have access to flexible working areas and reserved working spaces for those who are staying and working at the hotel.

An in-house management team is set to look after the hotel complex.

Should Oldham Council give its consent to the outline plans, work on the renovation could begin next year.

Phase one of the mill’s transformation into a business centre required a £15m investment from the mill’s owners. The second phase will be an additional £20m.

Ram Mill is found off Gordon Street to the southwest of Oldham town centre. It was first established in 1904 and used for textile production up until 2006, according to planning documents.

Gentrification better than demolition.

By MrP

Good luck with that.
It’s right next to Oldham sewage works. The smell locally is horrible.
