VIDEO | The top three Northern developments of 2025

Despite economic uncertainty and Building Safety Act Gateway 2 delays, the property sector in the North has continued to move at pace delivering sheds, beds, and everything in between.

Our editorial team from Place North West, Place Yorkshire, and Place North East took time to look at the year past and debate the projects that made the greatest impact in 2025. The three we chose represent each region and represent the worlds of stadia, employment, and education.

Narrowing it down to just three was difficult. We also crafted a list of honourable mentions for each region to go alongside our picks for the top trio.

This list represents our opinions. What do you make of it? What were your top three projects of 2025? Let us know in the comments.

You can see our top three list in the video at the top of this article, or on our YouTube channel.

Sorry Julia but you are in the U. K. now , and not in the U.S.A. . It is not two zero – it is two nil . You have no idea how irritating and insulting it is to the people who first formulated Association Football – what in America is described as ” soccer ” . Please respect our heritage and customs .

I will do penance over the holidays and come back in 2026 a new person. No more elevators, only lifts. No more zees, only zeds. Still don’t know the proper way to eat a scone though.
In all seriousness, every day is a school day. I shall be able to announce scores properly from here on out.
