Plans lodged to repair Wrexham road closed for three years
Motorists and residents are sure to welcome the proposals for landslip reinstatement work on the borough’s B5605 Newbridge Road.
The road has been closed since Storm Christoph hit in January 2021.
It caused part of the road to collapse down an embankment, cutting off a busy route for locals and a key diversion route from the A483 bypass.
As far back as May 2022 the Welsh Government made £2.8m available to Wrexham Council to cover the cost of repairs, with geo-technical work beginning that autumn.
A procurement process to find a contractor to take on the repairs began early last year, with the authority appointing Jones Bros Civil Engineering to carry out the work.
AtkinsRealis is also on the project team.
