Plans in for Prime Point phase two
The next wave of Acornfield Properties’s industrial project on a site off Lower Eccleshill Road in Darwen is set to include the construction of two warehouses totalling 233,200 sq ft.
Prime Property Consultancy, asset manager for Acornfield, has lodged the plans on Acornfield’s behalf. The project follows schemes approved in 2022 for two warehouses of 55,200 sq ft and 51,000 sq ft. That first phase was on the former site of the Darwen Paper Mill.
This next phase, which sits on nearly 10 acres off Lower Eccleshill Road, is clearly going bigger. Its former use was as a brickworks and electricity works.
The larger of the two units proposed is to have 117,100 sq ft of warehousing space and 11,600 sq ft of offices. Its car park would provide space for 154 cars, including 16 accessible spaces, six electric vehicles, and nine car shares. There would also be nine cycle bays and nine motorcycle ones.
The smaller of the two would comprise a 95,800 sq ft warehouse alongside an 8,700 sq ft office. Its car park would boast 125 spaces, including 13 accessible ones, seven for electric vehicles, and five that are reserved for car shares. There are 13 cycle bays and 13 motorcycle bays in the plans drawn up by Prime.
