Peel lands Premier Inn at airport

Peel Holdings has signed a deal with hotel chain Premier Inn to build a 101-bedroom hotel at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The deal follows successful granting of planning and licensing permission for the £5.5m hotel. Work will start on a 12-month build in the spring.

John Bates, head of acquisitions at Whitbread, Premier Inn's parent company, said: "Bringing Premier Inn to Liverpool John Lennon Airport is a great result for us and a welcome addition to our growing airport portfolio.

"There is strong demand for high-quality, cost-effective hotel accommodation at the UK's airports, yet all too often this isn't available. We're meeting consumer and business traveller demand by growing our airport presence."
