Orbit secures Cheshire pharma business
Illingworth Research Group has moved into Orbit Developments’ Hazelwood House on Tytherington Business Village, taking the whole 14,800 sq ft building to support growth ambitions.
Founded in Macclesfield by John Illingworth in 1998, the company supplies a range of clinical development services to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, biotechnology and medical device industries. The company said it aims to become the best mobile research nursing provider in the world.
The business now employs 135 people and has relocated from multiple sites in Macclesfield town centre to the business park, which is set in 43 acres of parkland and also houses a hotel, pub, café and nursery.
Illingworth said: “The business is Macclesfield born and bred and this is where we wanted to stay, but in workspace more suited to us that could accommodate not only existing headcount but support our growth plans.
“I have an exceptionally dedicated team of healthcare professionals who have struggled on in less than ideal space in recent years. Hazelwood House is the perfect location for our ambitious growth schedule.”
Paul McLeman, leasing director at Orbit Developments, said: “Illingworth Research is a fast-growing pioneer in its field with strong Macclesfield roots and we were delighted to be able to offer Hazelwood House.
“It is an entirely fitting space to which to welcome world-renowned pharma and clinical professionals, customers and other stakeholders. We wish them continued success.”
Illingworth Research Group will join medico-legal consultancy Collaboras Legal which moved to Oakfield House in March.
