Spanish manufacturer takes pre-let in Knowsley

Contenur will open its first manufacturing facility in the UK at Knowsley’s Image Business Park after signing a pre-let for a 56,500 sq ft warehouse.

The Spanish waste bin manufacturer is set to build a production warehouse on the 5.6-acre plot, formerly home to Kodak, which sold the wider site in 2007.

The company is expected to create 65 jobs, including 45 manufacturing roles, at the facility, which will include a 5,300 sq ft office along with a production warehouse totalling 47,000 sq ft.

Contenur’s facility will be built on Plot B of the business park, which is owned by Seybourne Estates, with two further plots to be built out at a later date. Hale is the architect.

Image Business Park is one of four schemes to attract funding from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, which is set to sign off a £4m grant later this week.

Seybourne is set to receive £861,000 from the Single Investment Fund to demolish some existing buildings at the park, to be followed by a development of 65,000 sq ft of industrial space. The grant will also support the creation of a future three-acre development site.

Future phases can include build-to-suit development opportunities between 20,000 sq ft and 200,000 sq ft.

The professional team on Contenur’s facility also includes Hoare Lea; PTA; Clarkson & Woods; Watkins Payne; Vectos; Delta Simons; and BEA Landscape. LM6 is the retained agent.
