Homes4U enters Altrincham market

Manchester residential agency Homes4u has acquired Altrincham rival Verve Lettings for an undisclosed six-figure sum.

The rebranded 1,300 sq ft branch on The Downs in Altrincham, acquired from Chris and Helen Fisk, reopened on Thursday. Homes4u now has five branches and has forecast turnover of £1.9m for this year.

The other branches are in Withington, where there are two, Chorlton, and Oxford Road in the city centre.

Homes4u's new Altrincham branch will be overseen by South Manchester business director, Simon Tattersall, and will retain all three members of Verve's team. Sue Edwards, who has been with Verve since 2002, will continue as rental manager, supported by Janice Houghton and Annette Rayson, who have both been with the company since 2008.

Carolyn Mellor, owner and managing director of Homes4u, said: "We are looking forward to becoming part of the Altrincham community, and providing local investors and residents with the industry expertise and focus on customer care which Homes4u prides itself on.
