Auction lots exceed expectations

More than 75% of the properties offered for sale at the latest Edward Mellor and Roger Hannah auction day sold for in excess of their guide prices.

Held at Lancashire County Cricket Club's Emirates Old Trafford ground, the auction included properties in Greater Manchester and Cheshire and resulted in sales totalling £3.2m.

Lots included Bury Old Road, Prestwich, a 13 bedroom detached former multiple-occupancy property which beat its guide of £275,000 to sell for £293,000.

Edward Mellor also used the auction to launch a new service – Edward Mellor Lettings – allowing auction buyers to have their newly acquired property marketed for rent and managed all on the same day.
