Muse kicks off early stages of 1.3m sq ft Crewe industrial
Luddon Construction has been appointed to deliver an access road and 26-acre biodiveristy habitat as part of the distribution and office complex.
Muse secured planning consent for the 1.3m sq ft WestOn M6 last year. Once complete, the development will comprise six industrial units and five office blocks.
The scheme is located on 64 acres between the A500 and David Whitby Way in the emerging Basford East neighbourhood. It will be delivered across two construction phases.
Luddon anticipates completing work on the enabling phase by April 2026.
Sarah Chicken, development manager at Muse, said the start of the infrastructure work represents the first step in the delivery of the “landmark commercial and business park”.
“These early works set the foundation for delivering high-quality, mixed-use, commercial space and the vibrant natural environment which we are seeking to foster as part of our wellbeing-led vision for WestOn M6,” she said.
“With the potential to create 2,900 new jobs upon completion of the site, we are excited to be moving forward on the early stages of a project that is set to attract future occupiers and drive regional growth for years.”
Aew Architects designed WestonM6 for Muse. CW Studio is the landscape architect. Avison Young is charged with planning, while Hannan Associates is the MEP services engineer. Integra Consulting is the civils, structural, and highways engineer.
B8RE is the scheme’s letting agent.
