Monte Blackburn steps up Burnley Bridge South plans
The Issa brothers’ development vehicle is seeking detailed consent for the first two units, comprising 150,000 sq ft and 40,000 sq ft, within the 32-acre masterplan area.
Monte Blackburn bought the consented site as a whole from Eshton Group in November, and has now lodged its first reserved matters applications for buildings – detailed plans for access infrastructure were filed in November.
Architect Campbell Driver Partnership has filed plans for Unit 2, in the north-western portion of the site.
The proposed building will offer around 150,000 sq ft of warehouse space and 14,000 sq ft of offices over two floors. There will be a planting buffer screen from Accrington Road.
A further application covers the 40,000 sq ft Unit 1.
Monte Blackburn is now the holder of outline permission for 538,190 sq ft of warehouses on the wider Burnley Bridge South site, which sits off Accrington Road near Junction 9 of the M65. Kilmartin Plowman & Partners was the planning consultant for the project and KPP was Eshton’s masterplan architect.
Law firm Freeths advises Monte Blackburn. The application’s reference number on Burnley Council’s planning portal is REM/2022/0683.
