MIPIM VIDEO | The jewel in Bolton’s regeneration crown

Over the last few years Bolton Council has taken a more proactive approach to regeneration as it builds up to the town’s most transformational project – Crompton Place.

Jon Dyson, director of place at Bolton Council, and Lee Fallows, the council’s director of corporate resources, sat down with Place North West to discuss the potential of the project.

Located in the heart of the town centre, the 280,000 sq ft Crompton Place presents a sizeable opportunity to revive Bolton providing a mix of homes, commercial, and leisure space.

The search for a development partner is due to begin next month.

“We are really really excited about bringing forward a new development partner who can bring the skills and the expertise to bring forward what will be our flagship regeneration project in the heart of the town centre,” Dyson said.

Crompton Place is by no means the council’s only priority. Northfold, the strategic growth location it shares with Wigan, is also a key part of its plans.

“Northfold is very much about bringing forward opportunities in terms of housing, health innovation, sports, leisure, and culture,” Dyson said.

You can hear more of Dyson and Fellows’ thoughts on Bolton’s current and future regeneration plans in the video at the top of this post, or by watching the video on the Place North YouTube channel.
