McCarthy Stone picks up stalled Salford site

Located off Liverpool Road in Cadishead, the plot was previously earmarked for 58 homes by Lane End before the developer went bust.

Lane End secured a resolution to grant planning permission for the Salford scheme but the company entered administration before the Section 106 was signed.

McCarthy Stone has now submitted plans for a 51-apartment retirement living scheme on the one-acre plot.

There would be 36 one-bedroom apartments and 15 with two bedrooms.

The site was previously occupied by The Lion pub, three industrial units and an art centre. However, all of the buildings have now been demolished.

BrightSpace Architects is leading on design and Planning Potential is advising on planning matters.
