Knowsley primes 157,000 sq ft industrial for go-ahead
Caddick Developments’ proposals for three units on a 16.5-acre site off Ormskirk Road are recommended for approval when the authority’s planning committee meets later this week.
The 157,000 sq ft development is planned as an extension to the neighbouring Knowsley Business Park.
Three individual units are proposed. The largest would provide 73,500 sq ft of employment space. The other two span 52,500 sq ft and 31,500 sq ft.
Knowsley Council has recommended that the development be approved, saying the scheme would secure “a high-quality employment development on one of Knowsley allocated employment sites.”
An officers’ report added: “The proposal would make a valuable contribution towards meeting the borough’s employment land needs [and would have] significant benefits to which significant weight can be attached.”
NJL Consulting is advising on planning and Fletcher Rae is the architect behind the proposals. Urban Green is the landscape architect.

That’s a good scheme on a suitable site. The jobs are always welcome, but more so now given current circumstances. As many readers are wont to say on these pages, ‘get it built.’
