Keepmoat tables 310-home Hindley proposals

A 34-acre site west of Hart Common Golf Course is the subject of plans for hundreds of residences.

Keepmoat Homes has submitted an application to Bolton Council to build 310 properties on the Green Belt site between Westhoughton and Hindley close to the border with Wigan.

The scheme features 310 one- to four-bedroom homes – half being affordable – on what Keepmoat claims meets the criteria for Grey Belt land.

The developer is pushing for the site to be included as a housing allocation in Bolton’s emerging local plan, which is due to be adopted in 2027.

Some development has already taken place nearby. Seddon’s 50-home Hewlett Way scheme is located to the north of Keepmoat’s site and was constructed on a former greyhound track.

Lichfields is advising on planning. Urban Green, Redmore Environmental, E*Scape, and Brooks Ecological are also advising. To learn more, search for reference number 01245/26 on Bolton Council’s planning portal.
