Siemens opts for Scotscroft
The global technology giant will keep its regional base within South Manchester, moving from long-time home Sir William Siemens House to around 40,000 sq ft at Didsbury’s Towers Business Park.
Place understands that Siemens will take the ground and first floors, with an option on space at second floor level, with a rent of above £34.50 per sq ft agreed, a record for the sub-market.
The move follows the sale of Sir William Siemens House on Princess Road to Northern Group in September 2024.
That deal saw the acquisitive Manchester property group pay an undisclosed sum for the 88,700 sq ft landmark building and its seven-acre grounds, with Siemens remaining in place as the business decided its future.
CBRE had run that sales process with a guide price of £8.7m, and was retained to find the occupier a new home. Colliers and Edwards acted for the landlord on the 10-year Scotscroft deal.
Place understands that a shortlist had been whittled down to a final two, with Circle Square losing out.
Owned by Kennedy Wilson, Scotscroft is regarded as the prime asset at Towers Business Park, off Wilmslow Road close to East Didsbury station. The building as a whole is around 57,000 sq ft.
