Jones Melling adds to architecture team

In its fifth hire in the last month, Robert Barker has joined the consultant as an architectural technician, bringing staff numbers up to 21.

Robert joins having previously worked for Peter Hitchen Architects and Bowman Riley Architects in Leeds, and will work alongside the consultant’s four other architectural technologists.

He is the fifth hire for the company in recent months after it added three building surveyors and another architectural technologist in April.

The company relocated from its base in Warrington last year to two offices, one in Preston, and another in Chester, after securing backing from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.

Gary Melling, director Jones Melling, said: “Our architectural technologists provide our surveying teams with a vital service, compiling floor and site plans and other building drawings for planning, building control and construction purposes. They’re also integral in allowing us to provide clients with 3D imagery and measured surveys.

“Robert brings lots of experience and deep technical know-how to us. This gives us extra capacity within our growing multi-disciplinary team.”
