Hat-trick of Preston sheds primed for consent

HBD-Barnfield, the joint venture delivering the 18-acre East logistics development, is hoping to secure planning permission for 150,000 sq ft of industrial space at the site.

Three separate applications for a trio of units are tipped for consent by Preston City Council planning officers ahead of a planning committee meeting next week.

Unit one would be 63,000 sq ft, unit two would be 60,000 sq ft and unit three would be 30,000 sq ft.

East is being developed on an 18-acre site off junction 31A of the M6 north-east of Preston.

Fletcher Rae is the architect for the development and Iceni Projects is the planning consultant. Eckersley and Gerald Eve are the letting agents for East.

The first phase of the scheme, a 70,000 sq ft shed split into five units, is under construction following planning approval in 2020.

Outline planning permission for East was granted by Preston City Council in September 2015.

The 50:50 joint venture between HBD and Barnfield Construction acquired the site from the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund in 2019.

Hopefully consent will be granted, there is great demand and limited supply in this area
