Harworth floats mega 660-home Wistaston extension
The firm has outlined plans for the development of a 109-acre neighbourhood.
Planner Turley’s EIA report concerns the area south of Wistaston Green Road, which is the subject of proposals for 600 houses and a 60-bed care home.
In total, the scheme’s housing would cover approximately 57 acres. The plan includes public open space, a local centre comprising 8,070 sq ft of commercial space, and will provide footpaths to allow for active travel.
Retaining and enhancing existing green assets and providing public open spaces, green corridors, and active travel routes are all proposed within the landscape strategy.
Directly south of this plot, Redrow Homes has submitted an EIA for a 220-home development on 31 acres off Crewe Road.
Both Tyler Grange and RSK assisted Turley with the EIA report.

I support the housing but why are there so many care homes specifically being built and planned for in Crewe? Seems to be nowhere else in Cheshire East apart from Crewe

More desecration of land. More damage to the environment and existing wildlife. More detrimental traffic pollution. Disgusting.

I’m worried the impact this is going to have on existing houses in the area. This includes the 4 years of mud, rubble, dust, and highly likely road closures for the duration of the construction. Then the aftermath of saturating the population. Are there enough schools, GPs, etc to support such a build???
Not to mention the damage to wildlife. Cheshire East is a beautiful area. If it becomes further saturated by houses it will lose it’s appeal and become to built up and busy.
