FDG recruits Room as director 

Marion Room has joined the architecture firm from DMWR, where she spent the last year. 

The Fairhursts Design Group has drafted Room in as director to grow the company’s pipeline of projects in the science, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing sectors for clients including the University of Manchester and the University of Liverpool. 

In her new role, Room will also provide mentoring for FDG’s junior team and promote the company’s commitment to knowledge sharing and talent development. 

Mark Adey, managing director at The Fairhursts Design Group, said: “We are excited to welcome Marion to FDG where we feel she will make a positive contribution to our team and the knowledge-led services we offer to our clients.  

“Her expertise across a number of industries, as well as her specialism in sustainability, was a big draw for us as we look to further enhance our position within a busy marketplace and diversify our sector capabilities.” 

Room’s arrival at FDG follows stints at several other design firms over a 20-year career, including BDP, Sheppard Robson, Chapman Taylor, and Tp bennett. 

“The Fairhursts Design Group is synonymous with Manchester’s built environment and has a reputation for delivering high-quality, sustainable designs throughout the UK and abroad thanks to its network of regional offices,” she said.

FDG employs 45 people across offices in Manchester, Southampton, and Cambridge.
