Exide signs in Bolton
Acting on behalf of GNB Industrial Power UK and Exide Technologies Transportation, GVA has completed the acquisition of a new UK headquarters on Orbit Development's business, retail and leisure park in Bolton.
Both GNB Industrial Power UK and Exide Technologies Transportation are part of US-owned Exide Technologies, which makes and recycles lead-acid batteries, and will relocate from two bases in Over Hulton, Bolton and Trafford Park.
The pair has taken the ground floor of Mansell House, which totals 9,610 sq ft on a new 10-year lease with a break after the fifth year.
Richard Lace, associate in national markets at GVA, said: "GVA has worked closely with GNB and Exide over the past 12 months and provided them with a full relocation service. This included the disposal of their existing premises, through to the search, acquisition and negotiation of terms for the new headquarters. GVA's building team have managed the procurement of the fit-out project and are currently onsite project managing the work."
Nigel Darke, managing director of GNB, said: "The relocation of our Industrial business from Over Hulton and part of Exide's Transportation business from Trafford Park, presented a number of challenges to the company which were outside our area of expertise. Engaging GVA at an early stage has enabled us to quickly and efficiently evaluate our options and deliver the new HQ within our occupational timescales and budget. GVA's involvement has been invaluable and has allowed us to continue to focus on our day to day business and undertake the move with minimal disruption to our business. The new premises at Mansell House, Middlebrook will provide us with new headquarters we can be proud of, with excellent amenities on site for our employees and in a highly accessible location within the North West."
