Flintshire signs off 80-bed care home
Northop Hall’s Plas Ifan Hotel, which has been vacant for 10 years, will be demolished to make way for the senior living facility being developed by Bod Hotels.
Designed by Harris Irwin Architects, the 80-bed care home has now been approved by Flintshire County Council. It will sit off Village Road in the North Wales village, which is close to the town of Mold.
The care home will be quadruple the size of its 11,400 sq ft predecessor. Coming in at 48,200 sq ft, the three-floor complex will include a cinema room, cafeteria, hair and beauty salons, physiotherapy rooms, resident lounges, and communal dining rooms. There will also be communal gardens for the residents to enjoy.
Most of the bedrooms will be on the first floor, with 40 set for that location. Those 40 bedrooms will be sandwiched by the grand and second floor, which will each have 20 rooms.
The proposals also include provision for 61 parking spaces.
In addition to Harris Irwin Architects, the project team includes PLPlanning, Adfer Conservation Consultants, Waterco, Carley Daines and Partners, P J Ecological Solutions, Nova Acoustics, Salopian Consultancy, and SCP Transport Planning.
