Drees & Sommer joins forces with Place North for MIPIM
“The mix of regional, national and international conversations that take place throughout MIPIM, combined with the added coverage from Place North, gives us the opportunity to showcase the diverse global service portfolio and sector coverage we have,” said James Ryan, director of the international built environment consultancy’s UK division.
While Drees & Sommer is headquartered in Germany, it has a dedicated presence in the North of England with offices in Leeds, Liverpool, and Manchester. Its staff of more than 4,000 are experts in project management, smart buildings, and real estate design and engineering.
Recent projects include the public realm masterplan at Manchester Metropolitan University, the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds, and the redevelopment of JunctionNINE Retail Park in Warrington.
Drees & Sommer will be in Cannes for MIPIM to learn from the 20,000-plus property professionals in attendance about what’s trending and what works – while also promoting their own work and enhancing their relationships with clients and partners.
Ryan shared more about why Drees & Sommer have chosen to attend MIPIM this year.
“2024 is a big year for Drees & Sommer in the UK,” he said. “With the acquisition of AA Projects in 2023, we are now a team of over 230 experts, spread over our seven offices in the UK and have a huge European and international presence. Our work across Europe and beyond means attendance at such a high-profile event, such as MIPIM, is a must.”
Ryan added: “As the built environment continues to innovate in the way it approaches development, refurbishment and retrofitting, it’s important for the wider sector to share experiences and best practices.
“Our attendance at MIPIM means we can actively listen to clients and real estate professionals about their perspectives, challenges and any trends that will shape the future of the sector for years to come,” he continued.
Ryan also touched on why Drees & Sommer chose to work alongside Place North at MIPIM.
“Whilst I will be spending time discussing our international real estate sector with clients and partners, the North of England is home for me and where Drees and Sommer UK have a broad presence so partnering with Place North makes sense,” he said.
“In partnering with Place North, we hope to contribute to the wider conversation as well as spread the word about what we can offer and the solutions we can provide with our new enhanced and expanded capabilities as Drees & Sommer.”
