David Wilson proposes Nantwich homes
Cheshire East Council has been asked to provide a screening opinion ahead of an application from the housebuilder for 90 homes off London Road.
Although the total number of homes proposed is below the 150 threshold at which an Environmental Impact Assessment scoping report is generally required, the land concerned, at 15.6 acres, is larger than the 12- acre threshold, hence the request for an opinion from the LPA.
Savills, which is advising David Wilson Homes as planning consultant, describes the site as being greenfield, to the south-east of Nantwich town centre, in the parish of Stapeley and Batherton.
As set out in documents filed, the site currently houses some buildings relating to agriculture. Part of the site’s southern boundary is provided by Wynbunbury Lane, with the western boundary provided by the A51 London Road.
Savills said: “The proposal is put forward as an outline planning application for residential development comprising up to 90 dwellings, with all matters reserved apart from access.
“The proposed development will deliver a range of market and affordable housing types with amenity space provided in the form of dedicated, private and shared amenity space. A policy compliant proportion of affordable homes will be provided.”
David Wilson is also behind the Maylands Park development in the historic market town.
