Countryside appoints managing director for Manchester, Cheshire East
Joe Turner was previously the interim managing director for the region and before that was the development director for the West Midlands at Countryside Partnerships North.
Turner has worked in property for 15 years, starting out at Taylor Wimpey as an engineer. He has also worked for RPS group and Persimmon.
Turner said Countryside sees a “variety of opportunities” in the Manchester and Cheshire East area.
“My key focus will be driving the delivery of high-quality sustainable communities in this important area of the business with the help of competent and experienced team of like-minded professionals, united by the same vision – creating long-lasting communities where people want to live,” he said.
Countryside chief executive for partnerships North, Jo Jamieson, noted that Turner had made an “immediate impact on the team” when he became interim managing director. That made him a logical fit for the permanent position.
“His unique set of skills, ability to see different perspectives and build relationships will play an instrumental role in driving the growth of the Manchester and Cheshire East region, as we’re gearing up for a busy year ahead,” Jamieson said.
Countryside is a mixed-tenure developer that works across the UK. Current North West projects include 365 homes in Oldham and the 160-house Radclyffe Green in Chadderton. Countryside is a delivery partner of Homes England.
