Bloor wins consent for Wigan housing
The Manchester office of Peter Brett Associates has secured full planning permission for 304 homes at Pepper Lane, Standish on behalf of Bloor Homes, the consent taking the total number of dwellings approved at the site to 351.
Wigan Council approved the development of the 39-acre agricultural site at its June planning committee, having consented a 47-home first phase in 2017. The project has been reworked since securing outline consent for up to 300 homes in 2015.
Work is under way on the first phase, with completion for the development as a whole set for 2024.
Bernard Greep, planning partner in PBA’s Manchester office, said: “We are pleased to have secured planning permission for this scheme, which the council’s officers confirmed is a high-quality residential development in a sustainable location.
“The development will make a valuable contribution to the short-term need for market and affordable family housing, at a site within easy walking distance of Standish town centre.”
Mark Waite, planning director at Bloor Homes, added: “We are delighted with this outcome which will enable Bloor Homes to deliver additional sought-after homes in Standish.”
The multi-disciplinary team was led by PBA, which also co-ordinated the production of an environmental statement. Masterplanning was undertaken by Bloor Homes in-house.
