Asteer marks third birthday with staff shake-up

The planning consultancy has made a series of promotions and additions, headed by Chris Sinton who joins from CBRE as regeneration and commercial director.

Sinton was previously a planner at GL Hearn before joining CBRE, where he spent seven years, moving into a director role.

Internal senior promotions at Asteer include three moves from associate director to director level: Jon Power will lead the strategic planning & land team, Paul Nellist, previously of Avison Young, becomes housing director, while Liz McFadyean is to coordinate environment impact assessments.

Georgina Blackburn has become an associate and Anna Ellam a practice associate.

Furthermore, Josh Thomas will join as an associate environmental planner with five years experience with Avison Young while Aira Temporal becomes senior planner and Phil Grant associate director.

Jon Suckley, managing partner, gave his congratulations to new starters and hoped their appointments would “continue to provide and enhance the high quality service to our existing and future clients,” echoed by Alice Routledge, partner, who praised those who received “deserved promotions.”

Asteer now has a team of 16, and Suckley said of the promotions: “Our internal promotions and new appointments are a reflection of the success we have enjoyed over our last three years.”

Suckley set up Asteer in 2021, having spent three years with Avison Young after the global consultancy’s predecessor business GVA bought How Planning in 2018.
