Approval granted for £41m college plans

Construction skills academy West Cheshire College has won planning approval for a further two education centres, including an area where students can construct a house.

The new buildings will be situated at Ellesmere Port and on the Handbridge campus in Chester, where students of different disciplines will work together to construct a house in a designated project area.

The 22,047 sq ft three-storey building at Handbridge campus will include landscaping, service areas and parking.

Work on both projects is due to start in March 2009, and is due to finish by September 2011.

Education specialists Bond Bryan Architects is the designer.
