Anwyl tables 130-home Flint extension

Flintshire County Council will rule on whether the Anwyl Homes development, which would act as an extension of Croes Atti in Flint, should proceed.

The housebuilder is set to hand over management of the 130 affordable homes to Wales & West Housing Association once the project is completed.

APD-designed houses would be served by two key roads off an extended Coed Onn Road, with cul-de-sacs branching off further.

A planning statement by SATPLAN proposes a range of house types and sizes, including 16 one-bedroom apartments and 10 bungalows.

A mix of 53 two-bed, 39 three-bed, and 10 four-bedroom houses rounds off the homes.

Most of the properties are set to be for social rent, only 13 are to be low-cost home ownership.

A plot slightly larger than three acres would be reserved for public open space and a play area, mapped out by TPM Landscape.

Parking spaces would be provided for up to 259 cars, a mix of bays and driveways.

The affordable housing statement adds that substantial positive weight should be attributed to the provision of affordable housing when councillors vote on the project.

Betts, Tetlow King, Focus Transport, E3P, REFA, UES, Ascerta, Redmore Environmental, Cadnant Planning, and Heritage Archaeology each contributed expertise to the application.

Anwyl has put forward a similar application for a plot to the north east of Mold, where the housebuilder hopes to erect another 135 homes with the help of a similar team.

Those interested in the proposal can use the planning reference number FUL/000320/25 on Flintshire County Council’s planning portal.
