Your Housing on site in Crewe
Affordable housing provider Your Housing Group has started construction at the Carriages, a 143 home development in Crewe on the 6.5-acre site of the former Bombardier factory on Dunwoody Lane.
The £14m scheme is a mix of one bedroom apartments and two- and three-bedroom homes. The project is being built by Countryside Properties, in partnership with Cheshire East Council.
The Carriages development is partly funded by a grant from the Homes & Communities Agency.
In total, Your Housing Group has a development programme in excess of £150m and aims to deliver 1,433 new homes across the region by spring 2015.
Deborah McLaughlin, executive director for the North at the HCA, said: "It is great to see work starting at the Carriages. Ensuring affordable housing is available where it is needed most remains one of our main priorities, so I look forward to seeing these much-needed homes completed."
