YHG acquires five acres in Chorley

Your Housing Group has bought a site in Charnock Richard with planning permission for 76 homes from Conlon Holdings.

The housing association has appointed Westchurch Homes to build the scheme, which comprises a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bed properties for affordable rent and shared ownership.

Lorraine Donnelly, development director at Your Housing Group, said: “Your Housing Group aims to provide a variety of quality, safe and affordable homes for every stage of life that will bring benefit to the wider community.

“We currently have a number of developments across the North West and hope to bring much needed housing to the area, unlocking affordable living for local people, building thriving communities and supporting local businesses.”

The development is being supported with grant funding from Homes England through Your Housing Group’s strategic partnership agreement.

Oliver Chan, partnerships director at Westchurch Homes, said: “Westchurch is delighted to have entered into another contract with Your Housing Group to deliver 76 affordable homes to Charnock Richard. This is a great location and we look forward to delivering this development.”

The Charter Lane scheme secured approval last year via the appeals process.

Chorley Council originally rejected Conlon Holdings’ plans to redevelop five acres off Charter Lane against officer recommendations due to concerns about the impact it would have on local roads.

However, the Planning Inspectorate reversed that decision at appeal.
