Westchurch seeks permission for 87 homes in Bury

The developer has applied to Bury Council for consent to clear a nearly five-acre site off Dumers Lane to prepare for the construction of affordable homes.

Westchurch Homes’ plans, drawn up by MCK Associates, focus on a site to the west of the River Irwell. Demolition of the plot’s existing buildings will be required before any construction can begin.

Westchurch has proposed a housing mix that would offer 18 single-bed flats as well as 69 two-, three-, and four-bed houses.

Both the houses and flats would be built in red brick and have private gardens.

Each flat would comprise an open-plan kitchen-living-diner, as well as a bathroom and bedroom.

Parking would be provided for 142 cars.

Enabl is the planning consultant for the scheme. Other consultants include ERAP, Enzygo, Smith Grant Environmental Consultancy, Focus, Dudleys, Hepworth Acoustics, Coopers, and TetraTech.
