Unite plans Liverpool expansion
Arrad House, one of eight buildings at the 797-bed Unite Student Village in the city’s cultural quarter, is in line for a facelift and extension under plans lodged by the PBSA provider.
Unite Students wants to add 36 cluster bedrooms to Arrad House – 20 on the first floor and eight on each of the second and third floors – taking the total number of student beds within the building from 74 to 110.
Rather than adding any additional floorspace to accommodate the increase in room numbers, Unite and its project team plan to use existing space including former offices and kitchens to create new bedrooms.
A series of facade works are also planned, including replacing the windows.
