Dewscope puts Knutsford housing plot on the market
With permission for 225 homes secured at appeal in 2024, the landowner now is looking to cash in.
Dewscope has appointed Colliers to find a buyer for 40 acres off Longridge east of Knutsford.
The site has outline consent for 225 homes. Cheshire East Council unanimously rejected the developer’s proposals in late 2023 against officer recommendations, a decision that was overturned at appeal in 2024.
The council’s decision to reject the application came after 3 hours and 20 minutes of deliberations and was made after councillors decided the scheme amounted to inappropriate development in the Green Belt.
While much of the site is situated on land allocated for housing in the area’s local plan, a significant part extends into the Green Belt. However, much of that section of the plot is earmarked for public open space in Dewscope’s approved plans.
The plans can viewed on Cheshire East Council’s planning portal using reference number 21/3100M.
The site is being sold by way of private treaty. An asking price has not been disclosed.
