Two new directors at Story
Carlisle-based Story Contracting has promoted two of its senior management team to the company's main board of directors; Tony Cook, plant director, and Alistair Grant, construction director.
Grant joined Story in 1990 as site manager and engineer and is now responsible for the construction division, whose customers include Nestlé and Pirelli, and helped establish Story's training centre.
Cook joined Story Contracting in 1995 as a plant mechanic. He has overseen the growth of the plant division, which supplies equipment to construction and rail engineering customers across the UK.
Fred Story, founder and chief executive of Story Contracting, said: "Alistair and Tony's knowledge and extensive experience have contributed greatly to the development of our construction and plant divisions, and we anticipate this will be the case for many years to come."
Grant said: "This marks a new and exciting chapter in my Story career. With the construction industry continuing to show signs of improvement, I am looking forward to another a year of growth in the business, supporting construction projects across the region."
Cook added: "The company has shown great confidence in the plant division and that investment is now bearing fruit as we continue to enjoy rapid growth. Joining the board is a proud moment not just for me, but for all our plant division employees who have worked tirelessly to get us where we are today."
Founded in 1988, Story Contracting provides building and civil engineering services, plant hire and rail infrastructure to customers including Network Rail and Balfour Beatty.
