Trebor wins Vision Park consent

A high-tech business park made up of 130,000 sq ft of manufacturing and office space in Burnley's Knowledge Quarter has been granted detailed planning permission.

Burnley Council announced Trebor Developments as the preferred developer for the site in January 2014. Phase one of the park will see the construction of an innovation centre, providing flexible space for advanced manufacturing occupiers.

The five-acre scheme on a brownfield site is being targeted to the advanced manufacturing, digital and knowledge-based industries.

The site is next to the Burnley College and University of Central Lancashire campus, and will enable occupants moving onto Vision Park to take advantage of the knowledge, skills and research into digital technologies, as well as manufacturing and engineering expertise via the Centre of Engineering Excellence nearby.

Start on site is expected later this year. Units of between 1,000 sq ft and 30,000 sq ft will be available.

The Homes & Communities Agency funded the purchase of the site.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner of Trebor, said: "Working with our partners at Burnley Borough Council, we have concluded the site masterplan and have detailed planning consent in less than 12 months of our selection.

"It is now ready to deliver, having been prepared and with planning in place. Our fast track approach to deliver specific premises to occupiers needs to be very attractive."

The masterplan was designed by Fairhursts Design Group.
