Three promotions at Fairhursts Design Group
The architecture practice with offices in Manchester and Southampton has promoted Richard Sagar to its first managing director and Mark Adey and Richard Fitton to the board.
Sagar has been with the company for over 40 years and will head up the 60-strong practice which specialises in architecture, masterplanning, interior design and landscape design. Key projects include the University of Salford's new Media City UK premises, the GlaxoSmithKline Centre for Sustainable Chemistry at the University of Nottingham and the Manufacturing Technology Centre at Ansty Park, Coventry.
Mark Adey was previously associate director, while Richard Fitton held the role of company secretary. They now join Ian Chapman, Eddie Fell, Ian Fitton, Denver Humphrey and Richard Sagar on the board and will take on company-wide responsibilities to shape the future of the 118-year old business.
Ian Fitton, chairman at FDG, said: "The hard work and dedication of these three individuals has been vital to the successes we have enjoyed as a practice and it is only right that this is recognised. Richard is a very safe pair of hands with an incredible knowledge of the business, so we could think of no-one better to drive the company forward. In addition, our two new board directors are sure to bring a fresh outlook."
Richard Sagar, managing director at FDG, added: "I am honoured to be taking on the managing director role and I look forward to building on our global presence and broadening our expertise throughout new sectors."
