The Gym to run ‘no frills’ centre at One Park West
Grosvenor's residential development on Chavasse Park in Liverpool One is to become health club operator The Gym's first venue outside London.
The Gym will run a 24-hour centre with prices from £9.99 a month in a 16,000 sq ft commercial unit at the Cesar Pelli-designed building. The company already has centres in Hounslow, Guildford and Vauxhall.
Guy Butler, projects director at Grosvenor, said: "We have limited commercial units in One Park West so it's very important to us that we choose companies that fit with the ethos of this landmark building, particularly when its not just a business for residents, but for the people of Liverpool as well."
John Treharne, chief executive of The Gym, said: "This is affordable no frills gym service. We will have over 170 pieces of equipment at Liverpool. We'll also be offering a personal trainer service for £25 so you can get your workout tailored to you and what you want to get out of it."
The Gym in Liverpool will open in the autumn. The company said more centres are planned to open in the North in the next two years.
