Sutcliffe wins extra-care contracts
Civil and structural engineering company Sutcliffe has been appointed on seven new extra-care housing projects throughout the North West, worth approximately £50m in total.
Extra-care housing projects involve residential units, typically aimed at older buyers, clustered around communal 24-hour health facilities.
The projects will be carried out over the next two years in Blackburn, Trafford, North Manchester, Wirral and Blackpool. Clients include Housing 21, Cruden, Bramalls Great Places, G&J Seddon, Northwards Housing and Wates.
Sutcliffe will provide a bespoke service for each development, incorporating full site investigations and surveys, civil and structural design work. The new projects will vary in size and design, from three/four storey new builds and partial conversions of existing low-rise buildings, to the development of a 15-storey tower block with new build communal facilities at ground floor.
John Sutcliffe, managing director of Sutcliffe, said: "This is fantastic news for the company. We have a strong track record in this sector, with £50m worth of projects already completed and an additional £70m of work currently in early stages of design. We have existing relationships with many of these clients and look forward to working with them to bring these exciting new projects forward."
