Story plots 89 Kendal homes

The Carlisle-based housebuilder is drawing up plans for a sizeable residential scheme at Brigsteer Road and is seeking feedback from the public.

Story Homes has launched a consultation on the proposed 89-home scheme, ahead of submitting a detailed planning application to South Lakeland Council later this autumn.

The consultation, which closes on 16 October, sets out plans for a development of one- to five-bedroom homes on an allocated housing site in Kendal.

The units would be a mix of terraced, semi-detached and detached units intended to make an important contribution to the district’s housing supply.

Siobhan Sweeney, Story Homes’ planning manager, said: “We believe our scheme will make the most of this site due to the high quality of houses proposed and our dedication to building developments that complement the local area.”

The housebuilder has yet to line up a contractor to deliver the project but said it intends to boost local employment opportunities through sub-contractor and supply chains.

Story Homes is also building 149 homes on land off Carleton Road in Penrith.
