Story plans Kendal housing

HOW Planning has submitted two planning applications for new homes in the Lake District town of Kendal on behalf of Story Homes.

An outline planning application for up to 105 new homes on a greenfield site on land at Kendal Parks Farm is accompanied by a full application for 35 homes at Brigsteer Road, both of which were submitted to South Lakeland Council. The greenfield sites are allocated for residential development in the local plan.

Richard Barton, associate at HOW Planning, said: "The preparation of the planning applications for Story Homes has been a very intricate process especially considering the greenfield location and the sensitive landscape of the surrounding area. Approval of both applications will enable Story Homes to progress with the schemes, bringing new homes to the community in Kendal and helping to support local businesses and services."

Barton said the two sites are in highly sustainable locations, close to a number of bus routes as well as several local facilities which would be supported by the new homes.
