St Modwen sells Mersey site for hotel

Whitbread has paid £975,000 for a 1.47 acre plot in the Widnes Waterfront development to create a Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre.
The four-storey hotel will have 60 beds alongside a 7,500 sq ft restaurant. There is now only one remaining restaurant unit available at the scheme, which opens in October 2011. St Modwen said this unit is under offer.
Whitbread will join Reel Cinemas, a 36,000 sq ft ice rink operated by Planet Ice, a Frankie & Benny's restaurant and Widnes Superbowl at the £10m leisure park, known as The Hive, within Widnes Waterfront.
