SpaceInvader wins reception work at Two St Peter’s

Interior design studio SpaceInvader has been appointed by Mosley Street Ventures to design a 4,000 sq ft reception space at Two St Peter’s Square, Manchester.

The £40m building, currently under construction and scheduled to reach completion early in 2017, totals 160,000 sq ft of prime office space along with 5,000 sq ft of retail.

SpaceInvader said that the reception design offers an executive business lounge with informal meeting spaces and the ability to host events.

The firm has already worked on interiors within the £48m redevelopment of the neighbouring Central Library, and director John Williams said that the new building is the next step for the area: “The redevelopment of the area has already made an immeasurable difference to the city centre and the completion of Two St Peter’s Square will only add to this.

“Occupiers understand that visitors start to form perceptions of their company as they arrive at a business address, long before they set foot in a particular office suite. We are seeing higher expectations for these environments and developers are increasingly looking to interior designers to make more of their properties’ entrances.”

SimpsonHaugh & Partners designed the building, while Swithenbank Property Consultants is the project manager. Accountant EY has signed a pre-let for 43,000 sq ft, on the eighth, ninth and tenth floors. EY’s space is to be delivered under its Workplace of the Future programme, by a professional team led by architect Perkins + Will.

Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management bought the building for £100m in an off-market deal in August 2015.
