Shoosmiths hires four
Senior associate Sam Grange and associate Alison Howarth have been appointed to the Manchester real estate team, alongside senior associates Ruth Clare and Garry King who joined at the end of last year.
Grange was appointed from Eversheds in January as a planning specialist and advises on all aspects of planning and highways law, and compulsory acquisitions and compensations.
Howarth joined earlier this month from Mills & Reeve in Leeds, and is experienced in a range of issues including initial site assembly, acquisition and development, lettings, site sales and leaseback, and asset management.
Senior associate Clare moved to Shoosmiths in September from Eversheds, with 14 years' experience advising occupier, investor and corporate clients.
King joined from DWF in October, and specialises in landlord and tenant issues, estate management and sales and purchases.
The new hires follow on from three appointment in August 2014 which saw Neil Armstrong, senior associate in construction and real estate litigation, senior associate Matthew Forrest and solicitor Sophie Kindon join the firm.
Vaqas Farooq, head of real estate in Manchester, said: "It is a pleasure to welcome Ruth, Sam, Garry and Alison in to the fold here at Shoosmiths. The national real estate team has been going from strength to strength and it has certainly shown here in Manchester, where we have been carrying out work that has been fundamentally reshaping the city and region. As a result, we are becoming renowned as a market leader in the region not only for our expertise but our client service."
Shoosmiths' real estate group is spread over seven offices with a team of more than 35 partners and more than 230 lawyers and staff.
