Shenton hires Middleton to head up sales and leasing

Chris Middleton’s appointment as a director at Shenton Group sees him return to the North West after a brief stint in the capital with Cadogan Estates.

Middleton becomes Shenton Group’s latest senior hire after Jason Bolland joined the business as CFO in January.

In his new role, Middleton – who has spent time with Bruntwood, Vita Group, and Capital & Regional – will lead on the sales and leasing of Shenton Group’s growing portfolio of commercial assets.

Middleton said: “It’s a great time to be back in Manchester – the city is thriving and there’s real momentum across the commercial market. Shenton Group has built a strong reputation for taking great buildings in prime locations and adding real value to them.”

Shenton Group’s office portfolio currently comprises 300,000 sq ft, which could double over the coming years, the company said.

The group’s current focus is on office-led mixed-use investments across Northern cities. This includes the acquisition and repositioning of Manchester city centre office buildings.

Recent acquisitions include Manchester Hall on Bridge Street and Halifax House on Deansgate.

Colin Shenton, group chief executive at Shenton Group, said: “As the quality of Manchester’s offices continues to improve, occupier expectations are building alongside it.

“Businesses now expect workplaces to offer the same quality of experience and environment that people enjoy at home. Chris brings a deep understanding of the market and the needs of occupiers, making him an excellent addition to the business as we continue to grow.”
