Liverpool approves 63 social homes
Stonebond Properties and Torus can now move forward with their plans to build a fully affordable housing estate on the three-acre former home of ADM Milling in Dingle.
The flour mill shuttered in 2022 and was vacant for years. The old mill buildings, including 20-metre-high silos, were recently demolished so the site is ready to build on.
Liverpool City Council voted in favour of Stonebond and Torus’s vision for the site at its recent planning committee meeting.
Comprised predominately of terraced houses, the project includes 24 two-bedroom residences, 36 three-bedroom homes, and three four-bedroom ones.
All 63 are to be made available for social rent and will be managed by registered provider Torus.
As part of the proposals there would be space for 73 cars to park. All homes would also have a shed in their rear garden that can accommodate two bikes.
NJL Consulting led the planning submission of the scheme. The project team includes Prime Transport Planning, E3P, AJP, Salford Archaeology, Townsend Water Engineering, and DAC Landscape.
