Sevendale House office refurb completes
The restoration of Sevendale House in Manchester's Northern Quarter has reached practical completion, creating 65,000 sq ft of office space and an additional 15,000 sq ft of retail.
The £6m renovation of the 120,000 sq ft grade 2-listed building by owner Philip J Davies Holdings is one of the biggest office refurbishment schemes in Manchester in recent years.
The five upper floors provide typical floor plates of 15,900 sq ft, capable of being sub-divided, with each floor retaining original characteristics where possible. The central lightwell has been reintroduced.
ARJ is the contractor for the Stephenson Bell-designed scheme for architect Buttress, with OBI Property project manager and leasing consultant for the development. Daniel Harris & Co is joint letting agent on the scheme.
Mark Davies, director of Philip J Davies Holdings, said: "Sevendale House is one of the Northern Quarter's most striking buildings and this extensive refurbishment has brought it back to its former glory, creating inspiring workspaces within one of the city's most popular locations. The reinstated lightwell, atrium and glass lifts are key features of the building, which, alongside offering Grade A space at a competitive rent, make this scheme stand out amongst its competitors."
The building is due to launch on Thursday 11 September at a reception where Sir Howard Bernstein, chief executive of Manchester City Council, is due to formally open the building.
