Serviced office provider takes space at Hive
Joint venture partners Argent and Manchester City Council have secured a deal with MSO Workspace for its first Manchester facility at the Hive in Lever Street, Northern Quarter.
MSO Workspace has taken 8,467 sq ft on the 5th and 6th floors in the building on a 10-year lease. This leaves 18,365 sq ft remaining to be let out of 80,000 sq ft in the Hive.
MSO Workspace provide flexible and serviced office accommodation and operate from several venues in Birmingham and London. The space is being prepared and is expected to open before the end of the year, it will be able to accommodate up to 120 people.
Steve Lyons, managing director, MSO Workspace, said: "We decided we'd like to open a facility in Manchester and the Hive was one of the first buildings we looked at. The space works incredibly well and location with its easy transport connections, coupled with the vibrancy of the Northern Quarter makes it the perfect fit for us. We're looking forward to opening."
Angela Fielding, senior projects director, Argent said: "MSO Workspace's offer lends itself to the building, and as we saw with the success of the Classroom there is a great deal of demand for flexible working environments in Manchester."
Tenants at the Hive include 5 Plus Architects, Gooey Creative, Join the Dots, Online Ventures Group, Fatsoma, Spacemen Creative, Bakerie Wine Store, Pie & Ale, the Arts Council and the Studio event space.
Edwards & Co acted for Argent and is the appointed letting agent on the Hive.
