Serviced office provider buys first Bolton site

Wrkspace, which operates three serviced offices in Preston, has made its first investment in Bolton after buying the 7,000 sq ft Hamill House.

The building has been purchased for an undisclosed fee from Hamill Investments, and includes 25 office suites off Chorley New Road. Following its purchase, Wrkspace is planning a full refurbishment of the building, which is near Queen’s Park and Bolton School.

It is Wrkspace’s first move into the Bolton market; in Preston, it currently operates Preston’s 12,000 sq ft Old Docks House, which it purchased from Barnard Estate Properties around 12 months ago.

It also operates two further sites in the city: one on Ribbleton Lane, and another at Preston Enterprise Centre on Salter Street.

Wrkspace was advised by Napthens’ commercial property team on the deal. Altaf Ali, owner of Wrkspace, said: “This is the second acquisition for us in less than a year, and we are continually looking round for other properties which fit our brand.

“Hamill House was ideal – the property is in a great location, has some strong businesses as tenants already and will be a good investment for our business.”
