Seddon progresses plans for 88 homes in Crewe

Located on a 10-acre site in Winterley, the scheme proposes family homes and apartments, 30% of which would be affordable.

Seddon Homes has submitted plans 88 one- two-, three-, four-, and five-bed homes off Crewe Road to Cheshire East Council.

The site is currently used for agricultural purposes and is classed as open countryside.

The application has been prepared in response to the “ongoing housing crisis in Cheshire East”, according to a planning statement prepared by WSP.

The local council has only a 3.8-year supply of homes, the statement adds, which is likely to work in Seddon’s favour when the plans come up for determination.

Eden Rose Consulting, DGL Associates, and Urban Green are advising Seddon along with WSP.

Seddon is no stranger to Cheshire East and the environs of Crewe. Earlier this year the housebuilder progressed plans for 420 homes off Sydney Road east of the town centre.

Already prepping the site, after letting a beautiful property be one derelict to increase what could go in the site. There’s another plan just north of this site for affordable housing too. Winterley services and Crewe road are not coping already with traffic increase from recent developments
